How I ended up here
From one winter of teaching skiing to a whole life in the mountains
Classic case of "one thing leading to another."
2014
Kitzbühel
After studying human movement sciences in the Netherlands, I moved to Kitzbühel. I had one big wish: to ski for an entire winter, just once in my life. I had been on skis often and gladly for years, but a whole season in the snow sounded wonderful. So I started teaching skiing. For one winter, I thought... ;-)
2014 - 2019
One season turned into several
I stayed on, did a few more winters at the ski school and picked up my Level 3 ski instructor qualification along the way.
2016
Bought a camera
The outdoor magazines were always lying around the ski school, and every time I saw one of those striking cover shots I thought the same thing: how on earth do they do that? So I set out to find out, and absorbed every piece of information about photography I could get my hands on. Plus countless hours with the camera in the mountains, working with whatever light happened to be there that day.
During the day I was simply working as a ski instructor, and in the hours before or after I would often still be out with my camera. Which meant regularly short nights, plenty of failed photographs, and thankfully every now and then one that landed.
2016
The first commissions
The ski school noticed how much I enjoyed photography and asked me for images for their website and social media. Those were the first photographs I made on commission for someone. More followed quite quickly: events, parties. And I moved further into the outdoor scene, first on small outdoor productions and later on bigger ones.
2018
And then that one wedding
One day an enquiry for a wedding came in through a friend of a friend. I said yes without really knowing what I was getting into. I went in open-minded, but while photographing the day I already noticed: this is something else entirely. This is about real people, real nerves and real emotions.
Right from the start I loved photographing it and moving around inside a wedding party. I followed that impulse, and over the years it has grown into what it is today.
2018 - now
Specialising in the mountains
Many weddings followed, and I specialised in weddings in the mountains.
2023
Adding the ski wedding
Extended the wedding offering with the ski wedding. Marrying on skis, and a photo shoot where I simply ski along with the cameras and drone in hand.
2025
Tyrolean hiking guide
Qualified as a Tiroler Bergwanderführerin, a certified Tyrolean hiking guide. From now on I can officially take couples up the mountain myself, instead of only walking behind them with a camera.
2025
Elopements and proposals
Extended the offering with elopements and proposals. Two things I was already doing, but which now have a proper place of their own.
2026
Tyrolean nature guide
Qualified as a Tiroler Naturführerin, a Tyrolean nature guide. One of the best things I have done this year!
2026
Moving images
I am working on cinematic footage, so that alongside photographs there will soon be moving images with sound. I expect to offer it officially in the last few months of 2026.
