Emily and Phil celebrated their unforgettable winter wedding in Alpbach, Austria, surrounded by snowy peaks and loved ones who travelled from the USA and the UK. Their choice of Alpbach was no coincidence: this charming Tyrolean village has been part of Emily’s life for years, a place of countless ski holidays with her family. Once she introduced Phil to its alpine beauty, the couple knew this was the perfect spot for their ski wedding in Austria. With their shared passion for skiing and the outdoors, saying “yes” in the Austrian Alps was a natural choice.

Bridal Photoshoot on Ski's

We kicked off this ski wedding with a unique ski wedding photoshoot in the Alpbach Ski Resort. Photographing two amazing skiers in such a stunning alpine setting was a dream! We took the first lift up the mountain, finding scenic spots where Emily and Phil could carve turns with the peaks as their backdrop. The day was unusually warm and sunny for March, so we made the most of the soft morning light. When the midday sun grew too harsh, we switched to the shady side of the mountain, where the light would playfully filter through. It was pure fun chasing these two down the slopes. We could even capture some playful drone shots of them skiing side by side. This had been Phil’s dream, and we made it come true.

Ski Procession to the Alm

After the ski photoshoot, we met the guests at the top of the mountain. Everyone wore casual ski outfits, carried little cowbells, and had the biggest smiles on their faces. Together, we set off down the slopes towards the Böglalm, with Emily and Phil leading the way. It was such a colourful, joyful scene, perfect to capture both on camera and by drone. Celebrating love on the slopes is what makes a ski wedding in Austria so unique! Photographing a wedding that included this much skiing was a true highlight for me.Skiing is one of my biggest passions, and combining it with wedding photography is where my strengths really come together.

Wedding Ceremony in a Mountain Hut

This was never meant to be a traditional wedding ceremony and it turned out to be truly unique. The entrance alone was spectacular: the guests skied ahead to the Böglalm to welcome the couple with loud cheers and applause. Phil then skied down the slope with his best men, greeted by an explosion of excitement. Emily followed with her father and maid of honour, and the crowd went wild. Inside the cosy hut (the Stube), their best friend led a heartfelt ceremony. He shared the story of how Emily and Phil met, how their love has grown, and how meaningful it was that friends and family had travelled from all over the world to be there. When Emily and Phil said “yes” to a life together, the celebration began in true alpine style. The party kicked off with singing and dancing in the narrow aisle between the wooden tables (Hey baby, oooh, aah, I wanna knooooooow, if you'd be my girl?!), guests cheering on benches, and heartfelt speeches that brought both laughter and tears. It was the perfect start to an unforgettable après-ski celebration. It was everything a winter wedding in the Austrian Alps should be.
